Private Parties at the Rumor Mill:
The Rumor Mill can accommodate special occasions and parties for groups of up to 100 guests. We are anything but cookie-cutter: Chef Matthew will work with you to create a custom menu for your guests based on your own likes and dislikes.
Private and semi-private space options include:
- The Tiber Room: our smaller downstairs dining room can be made completely private by closing its French doors. Minimum capacity 15 guests; maximum capacity 24 guests.
- The Bar: the bar area can be reserved alone or in conjunction with the Tiber Room. When reserved alone, it is suitable for cocktail-style events and happy hours. Minimum capacity 20 guests; maximum capacity 35 guests (seated and standing).
- The Mezzanine: our larger upstairs space is partially open to the downstairs bar area. It is up one flight of stairs. Minimum capacity 30 guests; maximum capacity 40 guests (seated), 50 guests (standing cocktail-style).
- Buyout events: we can accommodate up to 65 guests seated or 100 guests standing using all three spaces with guests on both floors of the restaurant.
If you are interested in a custom menu for a smaller group, let us know. We are happy to put together custom or “chef’s choice” menus for tables of 2-14 guests with advance notice. Please note that due to the configuration of our historic building, our largest single table seats 14.
